Nick Chen is a full stack creative, editor, producer, and audio-visual artist focused on telling music-driven stories through bold video edits, animation, and experimental workflows. Whether working in DaVinci Resolve, Blender, Ableton Live, or TouchDesigner, he brings a rhythmic sensibility—shaped by his percussion background—into every cut, transition, and frame.
Currently leading video strategy at Splice, Nick produces visually striking campaigns, artist features, and series that live at the intersection of music, design, and technology. He has led event activations at NAMM, ADE, and Superbooth, and is an early adopter of AI-powered creative workflows that push the boundaries of what's possible in post-production.
As a music producer under the alias Nickthechen, he creates house, trap, and experimental electronic tracks infused with global percussion influences. A graduate of the University of North Texas College of Music, he studied South Indian Carnatic rhythm, Ewe drumming from Ghana, and Balinese Gamelan—traditions that continue to shape his creative process.
Nick has also taught electronic music production, drumline, and music theory in schools and community programs across New York, Texas, and Georgia, as well as at Dubspot, where he designed curriculum for aspiring adult producers using Ableton Live. His educational work centers on making music creation intuitive, inclusive, and inspiring.
